Summary

Join Funders at the beautiful Museum of the Home in Hoxton to celebrate ten years of the Living Wage Funders Scheme

2025 marks ten years of the Living Wage Funders scheme. From humble beginnings, we now have over 80 Living Wage Funders across the UK.

But there's plenty more to do. Around half of entry-level charity jobs are still paid less than the real Living Wage, and working-class people are less likely to get jobs in the charity sector than in the public or private sectors.

How can funders work strategically to address these issues? We're excited to invite you to an inspiring and thought-provoking morning in the heart of East London, where you'll have the opportunity to explore these questions with peers and to hear from expert speakers.

- Recognising the progress we've made together - over the last decade, Living Wage Funders have enabled hundreds of charities to pay the real Living Wage

- Learn about the link between Living Wage and encouraging more socio-economic diversity among charity workers

- Breakouts where you’ll get the chance to speak to others in the Living Wage Funders network and learn about the impact of your support

- Hear from our speakers on how they are meeting the challenge of supporting people from working-class backgrounds to consider a third-sector career

- Enjoy the gorgeous Museum gardens and meet others who are working to tackle low pay in the not-for-profit sector

Speakers include:

Katherine Chapman, Director of the Living Wage Foundation

Sufina Ahmad, Director of John Ellerman Foundation and Chair of the Living Wage Funder Steering Group

Duncan Exley, author and social mobility campaigner.

Full agenda to follow.

Come along and be part of the Living Wage movement, connect with like-minded changemakers, and leave feeling inspired and equipped to take action! We can’t wait to see you there.

Venue: Museum of the Home, 136 Kingsland Road, London, E2 8EA
