Summary
The Survivors Trust is holding a webinar for funders on evidencing the need for specialist sexual violence and abuse support
We would like to invite you to join our upcoming webinar, designed for philanthropic funders, to discuss the needs of victims and survivors of sexual violence and abuse, the challenges specialist voluntary sector services face in coping with the ever-growing demand, and how your funds can make the most impactful difference.
Sexual violence affects a significant proportion of the population and its impact is often long-lasting. Survivors must be able to access relevant and specialist counselling and support when they need it and in their local area. A recent report by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP, November 2024) highlights the value of third-sector counselling services, including diverse approaches, ability to reach marginalised communities, and expertise in trauma support. The Prosper Study (2021) underpins these points.
We hope you will join us to explore how best we can ensure that the specialist sexual violence and abuse voluntary sector is able to continue to provide essential counselling and support to survivors throughout England and Wales.
The Survivors Trust is the largest umbrella organisation in this sector with 109 member agencies working in England and Wales. They collectively reach and provide support to over 100,000 survivors every year.
We look forward to your participation and hope you can join us for this important conversation.
