The next Social Justice Funders Group meeting will explore funder collaboration. It will be held at Linklaters, 1 Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8HQ.
The meeting will feature:
Ministry of Justice (MoJ) - Development of the long-term strategy: Cathryn Hannah, Deputy Director - Legal Support & Dispute Resolution, Access to Justice
The MoJ will provide an overview of the work they are doing with the advice sector to jointly develop and implement a long-term strategy to make the legal support system more effective, efficient and sustainable. This includes the work being undertaken to develop a shared outcomes framework for the legal support sector.
London Funders - Collaboration Circle: Helen Mathie, Director of Partnerships & Place
London Funders will update on the Collaboration Circle which aims to bring together funders and civil society partners to re-think traditional grant-making and design a more equitable way to pool money and expertise. They will also update on the recently published Mapping Funding for Social Welfare Advice in London report including next steps.
IVAR – Trust-based Learning: Ben Cairns, Director and Co-founder
Ben will share insight into what it means to take a trust based learning approach and how they have been working with funders to affect systems change.
Bringing trust-based learning to life: four actions for funders - IVAR Trust-based learning sees charities and funders as equal partners in building collective wisdom to advance equitable and effective social change.
There will also be some time for funder updates and networking.
