This essential and popular introductory course gives grant-makers an understanding of applicants' statutory accounts and the legal accounting framework of which they are a part.

This workshop aims to provide participants with an understanding of accounts. This will include the key issues to be aware of when reading them as well as the legal and accounting framework they are part of. The sessions will include an opportunity for questions and discussion plus a mix of activities.

Participants will leave the sessions understanding:

  • Accounting principles and terminology
  • What income and expenditure accounts/statements of financial activities and balance sheets are and the relationship between them
  • Key indicators/warning signs in accounts
