Summary

The National Lottery Community Fund and CAST are holding an in-person event to support greater collaboration amongst funders as we engage with AI

As the urgency with which we respond to AI increases, we’re looking to build our collective confidence in AI, experience of use and awareness of our role in supporting charities/community groups with AI. We’re particularly keen to invite senior colleagues to this session so that we can learn together and identify where there are opportunities to align responses for sector support. With that in mind, we’d like to invite you and a member of your senior leadership team or Board to join the day.

We’ll share examples of funders’ use of AI; hold practical demonstrations and masterclasses, as well as explore how we might best align our learning and support to the sector, so that we can continue to build a collective sector-wide response that benefits from the opportunities of AI whilst mitigating harms and challenges.

"Over the past year, 175 people from 125 grant making organisations have been working together to explore the opportunities and challenges of AI. Facilitated by CAST, this peer group has grown in response to the pace and scale of change from AI. We need an empowered, vocal and influential civil society to centre community and social value within AI, and an aligned, collective response from funders is critical to that." Dan Sutch, Director, CAST

The event will be held at Bishopsgate Institute, 230 Bishopsgate, London, EC2M 4QH from 10am to 4pm, with arrival at 9.30 for tea and coffee.
