Summary
Join this interactive session to explore practical stakeholder engagement and equitable practices
In this interactive session designed for funding practitioners, we will take a practical approach to stakeholder engagement and ask what more equitable practices might look like in your context.
We will begin by defining accountability as a key practice in an equitable approach, and differentiating it from the practice of transparency, which is often used as a substitute for more robust models of accountability.
Together, we will explore how funders can practise accountability in ways that are informed by a deep understanding of their unique role and power in the wider ecosystem of change.
From there, we will look at best practices in stakeholder engagement from an equity perspective and support you to apply these to your own function and context.
In this interactive learning session, you will:
- Learn about key concepts and challenges related to accountability in philanthropy
- Reflect on the unique role funders play in a wider ecosystem of change and how new models of accountability could deepen impact
- Have an opportunity to connect with peers interested in expanding their equity practice through their engagement with stakeholders
- Formulate actionable and pragmatic steps to apply this to your context
- Identify allies and leverage points in your sphere of influence
