Aims and activities
The Unite Foundation is interested in two different ways of achieving this:
- Partners wanting to directly support individual care experienced and estranged students in higher education through an evidenced-based intervention
- Partners interested in systemic improvement for these cohorts of students, through the provision of accessible, accurate data to stakeholders across the system
The Unite Foundation works to improve outcomes for care experienced and estranged students. We offer an accommodation scholarship - a free, secure home at university. We have more than a decade of evidence that students on this scholarship track back up close to population average for course completion and attainment. The Unite Foundation scholarship is the only intervention for this cohort of students which has Office for Students Tier 2 evidence of impact. We would like to work with partners interested in using the evidence, tested vehicle of the scholarship to directly impact the lives of individual students.
Because of the value we place on evidence of impact, we are also working to improve sector access to accurate data on outcomes for care experienced and estranged students. We believe that better data availability is a key first step in systemic change. We would love to hear from partners wanting to hear more about this work.
By collaborating on funding initiatives and working with universities, we can provide the support and resources that these students need to succeed.
