Uncovering racial injustice in Camden to drive change and fund solutions led by the community

Aims and activities

Camden Giving's Blueprint for Change research looked into the root causes of structural racism in inner cities. Led by 19 local residents (Community Researchers), the research uncovered clear calls to tackle structural racism in areas like housing, employment, youth provision, and safety. Now, we’re putting those findings into action.

We’re forming a Camden Anti-Racist Steering Group — a diverse, cross-sector coalition made up of residents, local businesses (including the life sciences sector), the local authority, the police, and other key organisations. This group will lead efforts to implement the community’s recommendations and drive systemic change across the borough.

We’re inviting local funders and businesses to take a seat at the table.

Your voice, resources, and networks can directly influence the creation of fairer systems — whether by funding grassroots ideas, opening up job pathways, or helping shape inclusive policies and services.

This is an opportunity to be part of a borough-wide, resident-powered movement to end racial injustice and reimagine how power is shared.

Join us, and help build a Camden where equity isn’t just an ambition — it’s a reality.

How to get involved

We need to lay the groundwork for this critical work. To bring the community-driven solutions to life, we’re calling on funders, businesses, and local institutions to join us. Your investment will help coordinate the efforts of residents, sector leaders, and organisations, ensuring we have the necessary resources to create lasting, impactful change.

Together, we can turn these insights into action — from tackling racial inequality to fostering safer, more inclusive communities.

Support this vital work today and help build a fairer Camden for tomorrow. Get in touch to learn more.
