Aims and activities

North East & Cumbria Funders Network (NEC-FN) was established in October 2015. The aim of the network is to enable funders to be better networked, better informed and work together more effectively to improve and maximise their support to North East communities.

There are three objectives of the Network to support our members:

  • Information exchange
  • Sharing intelligence
  • Building a picture of the North East funding landscape.

This will in turn support the following objectives:

  • Better understanding the current needs of communities and the organisations that serve them
  • Enabling more strategic, targeted and collaborative working.

How to get involved

The network welcomes new members, whether you are a North East based funder or a national funder seeking local insight and connections. If you would like to join the network, please email VONNE.

Who was involved

The members of the network include local, regional and national funders, lottery funders and social investors.  Many of our network meetings are also broadened out to include Local Infrastructure Organisations and Local Authority representatives as over the years we have found that discussions and collaborations across all these groups has the greatest impact.

The NEC-FN is facilitated by Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East (VONNE), with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
