Aims and activities
Research shows how community organisations are often best placed to tackle growing challenges in society - from the climate crisis to mis/dis-information to pressures on cohesion.
International practice on supporting and funding community organisations to become 'Community Resilience Hubs' has been found to work well, from New Zealand to Colombia. We want to support this model in London.
The aims of the project are to:
- Support community organisations to become Community Resilience Hubs by providing small grants
- Upskill and train community organisations in community mapping, community response, climate resilience, social cohesion and beyond
- Create a coordinated network of Hubs that can be mobilised at pace.
How to get involved
We are looking for additional funding for this programme to upscale. London Resilience has allocated £70,000 and we are looking to match fund this and increase the size of funding available.
