Aims and activities
Would you like to receive insights and data about the environmental, social and governance performance of charities in the sector?
Eastside People is bringing together a cohort of funders to explore results from this year’s 2025 ESG survey for charities (open until July 25th), and to consider ideas how the sector can support grantees/investees on their development.
As demands for reporting on environmental and social matters are increasing with the new charity SORP, how can we work together to improve practice in this area? How can better reporting improve the way funders report on their impact?
Those involved will:
○ Receive data on trends and benchmarking from our annual assessment tool (eg. benchmarks for net-zero and carbon footprint management, EDI, flexible working, social impact and good governance).
○ Learn how others are supporting charities with their ESG performance
○ Access a tool for monitoring and measuring your own ESG / impact activities as a funder
○ Support good governance and sustainability standards of the sector.

Who's involved
Who was involved
About 20 funders have engaged so far in aspects of Eastside People's environmental, social and governance survey. This includes a wide range of types - traditional grant-makers to community foundations and social investors.
It has been spear-headed by a group of 15 early adopting charities and ACEVO (the charities CEO network). Other sector infrastructure bodies have also engaged.
We think this is particularly relevant for funders who have an interest in supporting charities and social enterprises in measuring and better managing their environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities.
