Environmental Funders Network - Food & Farming Funder Group

Recently launched at Groundswell 2026, this new strategic initiative aims to foster collective funder action and impact in the sector. We seek to grow the total volume of funding for more resilient, sustainable UK food and farming, and increase the effectiveness of allocated funding by enabling and demonstrating collaborative funding models.

This group is a facilitated space where funders can convene, share information, and learn together and from one another to accelerate on-the-ground impact in the UK.

The ambition of the Food and Farming Funder Group (FFG) is to increase awareness and understanding among philanthropic funders of the need for greater and more long-term support for sustainable change within our food and farming system, leading to an increase in the amount, accessibility, coordination and sustainability of philanthropic funding being directed towards better food and farming.

FFG will be a network focused on restoring nature and tackling climate change through adoption of better food and farming practices at scale. FFG will:

1. Share knowledge, expertise and build relationships

- Including pooled information on funding opportunities and knowledge of current funding priorities of members.

2. Collaborate to create funding for greater impact

- Including nurturing strategic projects that bring funders and grantees together

- Identifying and supporting potential collaboration and co-funding alliances built around areas of common interest.

3. Attract more funding to drive scale.
