Aims and activities

The Energy Efficiency Fund was developed to support organisations with energy efficiencies. Grants covered a variety of efficiencies including upgrades to lighting systems and rainwater harvesting to installation of heat pumps and vital window glazing.

Two types of grants were available: up to £100,000 for capital projects and up to £10,000 for energy audits.

The programme was administered by The Linbury Trust with expert assessments undertaken by Ashden, who also manage the ongoing peer-learning network for grant holders.

To make the programme manageable, previous grant holders from across the three funders were invited to apply.

Organisations in all four countries in the UK were supported, including museums, ballet companies, historic sites and charities working with vulnerable people.
