Aims and activities

By shifting philanthropic resources into grassroots community organising, we aim to strengthen democratic engagement and build the power of communities to win change that matters to them. To build power in place, we are investing in local power-building work across North Manchester, North Wales, and Hampshire. We are also investing nationwide in the infrastructure and leadership critical to a thriving organising field. We provide 'beyond the grant' support to build the capacity and aid the collaboration of the groups we fund. And we are independent and non-partisan and governed entirely by movement leaders.

The Civic Power Fund would love to hear from you, to trade lessons on collective action and discuss collaboration opportunities to strengthen our communities and our democracy.

Executive Director, Civic Power Fund

How to get involved

We are inviting like-minded funders to join the Civic Power Fund as part of a collective and long-term investment in building civic power; strengthening democratic accountability; and creating sustainable and authentic routes to justice. We are also inviting investment in our Governance Hub, which provides bespoke legal and governance support to grassroots campaigners and organisers.

Please contact Martha Mackenzie to find out more.
